The Mass Media: Worse than the Bush Administration
Yay, Senate. The Senate Intelligence Committee released its report today which states that there is no evidence Saddam Hussein had a relationship with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his al Qa'ida associates. This comes as no surprise to people in the thinking world, but I honesty do commend the Senate for its report in calling out the Bush Administration. Yay, Senate.
Boo, Media. The language in the Committee report seems very clear and conclusive. Take, for example, Conclusion number 7 on page 110 of the Report: "Postwar information supports prewar Intelligence Community assessment that there was no credible information that Iraq was complicit in or had foreknowledge of the September 11 attacks or any other al-Qa'ida strike." I cannot help but think who is worse . . . the Bush Administration or the mass media. In the AP FoxNews story, the journalist states that the Report "undercuts" President Bush's justification, while the BBC story states the Report "weakens" and "undermines" the basis on which the United States entered Iraq. Call it whatever you want, Mr. Mass Media . . . the President underestimated, he misevaluated, blah blah blah . . . HE LIED. Boo, Media.
